Jennifer Love Gironda, or ‘Mrs. G’ as the students call her, was born and raised in North Carolina and moved to Florida in 2009.  She earned her BFA and MAEd in Art Education from East Carolina University and is a National Board Certified Teacher.

Mrs. Gironda began her teaching career in Greenville, North Carolina and has taught all levels of art in her twenty-three years of teaching in both public and private school settings in North Carolina and also here in Florida.  She currently teaches all of the art classes here at CMCP and moderates the National Art Honor Society, Art Club and Fashion Club. She has also partnered with CMCP's Environmental Club and Barry University in the activities associated with the Youth Ecological Action Network. 

Mrs. Gironda has always wanted to be a teacher and received a North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship for her undergraduate studies.  She was inspired by her high school art teacher, Robin Calcutt- who always greeted her classes with a smile that made every class feel like home.  Her favorite part of teaching is to help her students find their voice as artists and to discover their own talent in art.  

Mrs. Gironda has committed herself to her art outside of the classroom, creating a piece every day since January 2012- 5,000 consecutive days of art making as of today. She has an artist studio at the Design Center of the Americas with Zero Empty Spaces Artist Studios and her work is focused on fashion illustration.  Mrs. G loves animals (like her two cats!) She also loves to see live music- especially Willie Nelson, who she has seen fifty times. 

Her favorite thing about being at CMCP is the strong sense of community. Mrs. Gironda extends a special thank you to her husband for always being in her corner and also her family and friends who have truly been a support system throughout her teaching and her art career.
