Eighth-Grade Shadow Program:  Dates start the week of Oct. 7th

The Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory Shadow Program invites current seventh and eighth grade students to experience a day as a "Lion".  Each shadow will have a chance to familiarize themselves with the Chaminade-Madonna family though a campus tour, participate in the classroom experience, and an opportunity to speak with administration, faculty, and staff.  During a shadow visit, students are paired with a shadow host based on interests, including class schedules and extracurricular activities. Lunch will be provided and day concludes at 1:40pm.

Parents, please create an account and password.  Pick the shadow date that works for your child.  Continue to the end of the form and make sure it has been submitted.  You will receive a confirmation email confirming date and time.

Weekend HSPT Review:  Saturdays, November 2nd, 9th and 16th, 8 A.M. - 1 P.M.

Eighth graders will learn to plan, strategize for success on the HSPT Exam.  The course will help students develop test-taking skills.  Learn strategies for each section and question type.  The course will reinforce the skills necessary to excel on the test.

High School Placement Exam (HSPT):  Saturday, Dec. 7th

All Incoming 9th grade students are required to take the HSPT at Chaminade-Madonna on December 7, 2019:

The following are a few guidelines for the HSPT which will be administered at Chaminade-Madonna.

  • Please arrive no later than 7:45 a.m. at the front of Chaminade-Madonna 500 E Chaminade Dr. Hollywood, FL 33021.
  • Bring two #2 pencils.
  • Please wear: Girls: Polo-type shirt or blouse with khakis. Boys: Polo-type shirt with khakis
  • Light jacket or sweatshirt is recommended.
  • Please make sure your child eats a good breakfast.

The test is approximately 3 hours and covers Verbal and Quantitative Skills, Reading, Math and Language (Grammar). Chaminade-Madonna strongly suggests a student to prepare for the HSPT Exam. A resource for this exam is Barron's Strategies and Practice for the HSPT ©2018  By Sandra Martin.

Experience the CMCP community first-hand on a tour designed for parents of 7th grade students.  Meet with administrators and parents of current students, alumni, tour the campus and visit classes in session.  The event will begin in Belanger Hall promptly at 8:30 a.m. and ends by 10 a.m.  This visit is for adults only.
