David Buttacavoli '04
Distinguished Faculty Hall of Fame
Mr. Buttacavoli was born and raised in South Florida. He graduated from Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory in 2004. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with a Minor degree in Japanese from Florida State University in 2008. He also received a Masters in Educational Leadership from Lynn University.
In 2008, Mr. Buttacavoli started his teaching career in Japan instructing Japanese students in the English language. He is currently in his 11th year of teaching English at CMCP. Besides teaching, he is the Co-Director for the CMCP Mainstage Theatre Program and E-Gaming Club Moderator.
Mr. Buttacavoli has wanted to be a teacher since high school. His mother along with the amazing educators he had during his time as a CMCP student inspired him to be a teacher. He specifically wanted to teach at CMCP to give back to the community that gave him so much.
His favorite part about teaching is the satisfaction and joy he gets from watching students grow, both academically and as individuals.
Mr. Buttacavoli enjoys playing video games (especially Pokemon), watching Florida Panthers hockey, spending time with his wife and son (and soon to be newborn daughter), and of course providing endless amounts of feedback on student writing assignments. He extends thanks to his wife, Jaclyn, for supporting his passion for teaching, his long hours on campus helping with theatre, and for being an amazing partner to share life with.
