CMCP "kicks" off Founders Week with friendly competition!
It was the perfect day to “kick-off” Founders Week with a Faculty vs. Student kickball competition this past Tuesday. Alongside beautiful Florida weather, our teams gathered on the football field for the big game. The bases were set up, and there was an audience in the stands, lead by Dr. Mucheck, ready to cheer on the players.

Face masked-up and ready to run, the faculty team began the game on the offense, unfortunately, they didn’t quite succeed. Yet, that didn’t stop them from trying while still cheering on their students. Many could hear Mrs. Lagrange say, “Don’t worry, you’re always a winner in my classroom!”  But, what was the final score? David B. ‘21 was gracious when we said, “Well, a lot to a little.”

While the students might have gotten away with a game win, there were some notable moments for the faculty. Mrs. Fraser gave her all and dove for a big save! It’s also a good thing Mr. Reavey was on the faculty team this year, as he caught many of the balls kicked by students.  And Coach Jones might have even caught a ball in the outfield while on a work call.

But it truly was the students who shined Tuesday afternoon. Paul B. ‘21 was one of the star kickers and Isabella S. ‘22 even encouraged the faculty saying, “I believe in you, you can kick it!” as she pitched. The students played hard, but kept it fun, and even made sure that Mrs. Duncan got her base every kick.

It was a competitive afternoon and a great start to Founders Week. As we celebrate our 60th Anniversary, we look forward to many more great times (and maybe a faculty win!) ahead.

Important Updates

The new CDC guidelines will recommend close contacts of those infected with the coronavirus should quarantine for 7 to 10 days after exposure, down from the 14 days currently recommended. Individuals can end their quarantine after 7 days if they receive a negative test, or 10 days without getting tested.
For additional information on the COVID-19 Vaccines, click here. For additional information on Florida COVID-19 Testing Sites, click here.
If you are not coming to school, do not fill out the Daily Screening Form - even if attending classes online. The Daily Screening Form should be completed by students who will be physically present on campus for that day.
