The Countdown Begins For The Class Of 2021

It’s been a fun year celebrating the class of 2021. Today, some of our seniors are enjoying Grad Day at Universal Studios in Orlando. We hope they are having a great time!

Back in February, we announced the start of some senior surprises on social media, with class moderator Ms. Smith shouting out how awesome the class of 2021 is.

Our first celebration was a lunchtime treat provided by SAGE. Our entire campus received delicious “brookies” (half cookie, half brownie)  as we cheered the senior class. “It was a great way to show our seniors that we really do love and care about them but also super fun to share with everyone. Who doesn't want a treat? And they were delicious,” Director of Student Activities, Mrs. Matos Di Lascio '03 said. You could also see the “We Love Our Seniors!” banner flying high in Zaragoza Center.

Since then, our community has come to know that the 21st of each month is a special time on campus. Next was a gift courtesy of the Admissions Department. Director of Admissions, Mrs. Billisi '93, spoke in a heartfelt video about how special the class of 2021 is and announced that the class would be given specialty pins to remember their time at CMCP. “As Admissions Director, I have the opportunity to be the first person on campus to welcome the class to our family. I felt the pin would be a great symbol of the beginning and, yet, the end. The growth that happened in between is the most important,” Mrs. Billisi said.

Then the Athletics Department was excited to host a “March Madness” event in honor of the senior class. Mr. Bishop, Athletic Director, said it was a great opportunity to get our graduating seniors together for some fun and watch a little bit of the NCAA tournament as well. Everyone enjoyed games, prizes, pizza, and more.

This week, the celebrations began with a social media post announcing the gift of senior yard signs. Mrs. Matos Di Lascio, Mrs. Duncan, Ms. Harvey, Mrs. Sierra-Cohen, and Mr. Johnson all sent well wishes in a video to the graduating class. The Advancement Department distributed the custom yard signs to the senior class. Director of Advancement, Ms. McKenney said, “It has been such a joy to celebrate our seniors here at C-M. We wish you the very best, Class of 2021, and we can't wait to welcome you as One Pride C-M Alumni soon!"

There’s only one month until graduation but still time for more celebrations! Stay tuned for a final gift courtesy of Campus Ministry. Follow CMCP on social media to stay up to date on these fun senior announcements. Congratulations again to our seniors, we’re so proud of you!

Congratulations to (from left to right) Benjamin S., Luke R., and Katelyn K. on their selection for a Broward County Non-Public School Association Pinnacle Award. Selection is based on the students' character, attitude, and actions. They must demonstrate that they have attained the pinnacle – exemplifying an elevated character and spirit. Well done, Lions!
