Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory Holds 9th Annual C-M Cares Volleyball Tournament to Benefit Breast Cancer Research

Hollywood, FL –Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory will hold its 9th annual C-M Cares Volleyball Tournament on Friday, September 22nd through Saturday, September 23rd to benefit breast cancer research. The tournament will be hosted at Chaminade-Madonna and Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School.

Sixteen teams from across the state of Florida will compete on the court with the unified cause of raising funds dedicated to breast cancer research. Last year, the tournament assisted in raising approximately $4,000. In total, the tournament has raised approximately $30,000 since its formation.

Chaminade-Madonna's Volleyball Coach, Jason Johnson, noted that, "We believe that it is important for our student athletes to know that they can make a change in the world and that they can and should be a part of a larger cause. This tournament is one small way that we are able to give back. It is great to see our team and our school community rally together every year to support this event."

The tournament kicks off at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 22nd at Archbishop McCarthy and at 2:00 PM at Chaminade-Madonna, and will end with the championship match on Saturday, September 23rd at 5:45 PM at Chaminade-Madonna.

Tickets can be purchased at the door and cost $5. Additional information about the tournament can be found on www.cmcares.weebly.com.

Congratulations to our CMCP Lions football team for being crowned the 3A State Champions after defeating King's Academy with a final score of 38-10. The championship game, which took place at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, marks consecutive visits to the 3A State Championships for the Chaminade-Madonna Lions and their fourth state title. "To me it's more than just a back-to-back State Championship," noted Head Coach Dameon Jones. "It's about teaching these young men how to overcome adversity. My goal has always been to mold these young men into successful student athletes and it couldn't be done without the support and help from the entire Chaminade Madonna community."
