Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory to Host Lock-In

Hollywood, FL – Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory today announced they will be hosting the school's first-ever lock-in for Women Engaged on Saturday, September 16th from 3 PM – 11 PM. The event is open to Chaminade-Madonna's female students. It will take place on campus and will feature Dr. Simone Alicia, best known as the 'The Self Esteem Doctor'.
Dr. Simone is a motivational speaker and coach who successfully helped countless people to improve the way they think and feel about themselves.

The Lock-In is the inaugural event for Women Engaged, a school program that seeks to empower female students. With Dr. Simone's assistance, the event will educate Chaminade-Madonna female students about the objectives of Women Engaged and will garner interest in the program through activities such as yoga and "The Confidence Walk," as well as a variety of games.

Caytie Lagrange and Luigina Billisi, the co-founders of the Women Engaged program, noted that, "We felt the need to offer something special to our young women, to inspire a growth of voice and the ability to reflect within themselves."

The co-founders of Women Engaged hope to achieve the following through the program:

  • Nurture and reinforce the development of positive attitudes towards oneself as a unique and worthy person;
  • Demonstrate and exercise effective communication skills and cooperative behavior in group settings;
  • Understand and embrace change as a part of growth; and
  • Identify and apply alternative solutions to problems and develop action plans to achieve realistic goals

Tickets to this event are $25 and can be purchased www.cmlions.org/lock-in.

Congratulations to our CMCP Lions football team for being crowned the 3A State Champions after defeating King's Academy with a final score of 38-10. The championship game, which took place at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, marks consecutive visits to the 3A State Championships for the Chaminade-Madonna Lions and their fourth state title. "To me it's more than just a back-to-back State Championship," noted Head Coach Dameon Jones. "It's about teaching these young men how to overcome adversity. My goal has always been to mold these young men into successful student athletes and it couldn't be done without the support and help from the entire Chaminade Madonna community."
