Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory

Philosophy of Education

Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory, a private Catholic High School in the Marianist Tradition, provides an education for grades 9-12 with emphasis on the development of faith, the cultivation of moral values, and the preparation for higher education which will lead to a successful life.

The school bears the name of Blessed William Joseph Chaminade, a priest who lived during the era of the French Revolution and who founded the religious congregation known as the Society of Mary (Marianists). The role of Mary was central to Father Chaminade’s vision. True to his vision, the entire staff at Chaminade-Madonna possesses a firm commitment to the total education of our students. At Chaminade-Madonna, education is not restricted to the confines of the classroom; a wide range of athletic, cultural, social, and religious activities is an integral part of the total education program, embodying the
Characteristics of Marianist Education. Discipline is a necessary part of growth, and is administered in such a way as to enhance the personal development of the students. Our disciplinary system balances justice with mercy and encourages individual responsibility.

An understanding of the multidimensional aspect, the cultural diversity, and the various needs within the community, allows the students to exhibit respect for others, self-discipline, and community service in the fulfillment of their lives as our Creator intended. In the spirit of Mary, the Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory balances an active life with prayer, reflection, and service.
