Gifts Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title:Gifts Coordinator

Reports to:Head of School

Department:Advancement

Classification: Full-time; Exempt (12 months)

Hours:7:45am – 4:00pm (M-F)

Description:

The Gifts Coordinator at Chaminade-Madonna is primarily responsible for the successful planning and execution of the annual fund. In addition, this position works closely with the Head of School in identifying potential donors in the various gift-giving categories. As a member of the advancement department, this position also assists with events or other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to support the mission and purpose of the school
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing, preferred
  • Experience in non-profit fundraising, preferred
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Annually plan and implement all details of the annual fund
  • In conjunction with the Student Activities Director, plan and execute the annual student raffle
  • In conjunction with the Communications Coordinator, analyze the Raisers Edge database to identify potential donors not currently solicited
  • Conduct face-to-face solicitations with potential donors
  • Cue-up donors for meetings with the Head of School
  • Assist in the construction of the annual report
  • In conjunction with the Events Coordinator, solicit gifts and sponsorships for the Lions Main Event and the Golf Tournament
  • Set target goals for annual number of solicitations and secured dollar amount of the annual fund
  • Other duties as assigned

Guidance Counselor

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Guidance Counselor

Status: Full-time; Exempt (10.5 months) 7:45am-3:15pm

Reports to: Director of GuidanceDepartment: Student Services

Job Summary

The Guidance Counselor works to implement the support function for students and parents as they relate to academic, personal, and post-secondary educational planning. This position is also responsible for the successful execution of the annual standardized testing program.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • M.S. in guidance and counseling; school counseling experience and 3 years experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate the Marianist philosophy and characteristics of education
  • Proficiency with technology, especially the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with Naviance software preferred
  • Experience with Administrator’s Plus softwarepreferred
  • Ability to work cooperatively
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Self-motivated

Specific Duties:

  • Maintains a guidance file for each student assigned to them
  • Confirms the completion of all graduation requirements
  • Works with students in the course selection process
  • Meets with assigned students no less than three (3) times per year
  • Provides personal counseling with students and parents as needed
  • Coordinates information flow to faculty regarding students with learning exceptionalities
  • Provides limited college and career counseling
  • Proctors testing as assigned by Director of Guidance
  • Provides information to students and parents regarding the college application process
  • During 1:1 meetings with students, discusses the Family Connection
  • Writes letters of recommendation
  • Provides student athletes with college and NCAA clearinghouse requirements for eligibility
  • Advises students and parents about the Bright Futures Scholarship program/status
  • Coordinates the Silver Knights application process
  • Attends workshops as appropriate
  • Networks with other catholic high school counselors
  • Occasional extended hours based on program needs
  • Other duties as assigned
